Gluten Free Menu At Paella Bar In Poulsbo

Have you been to the Paella Bar in Poulsbo, WA?  I finally had an opportunity to go recently.  It is amazing! As soon as I walked in, I knew this would be a new favorite!  The atmosphere is so intimate, the colors are so warm, you feel like you are in a secret tapas bar in Spain.

We were greeted immediately and sat down in the bar area.  Just as I was getting comfortable and looking around to take it all in, I couldn’t help but gaze endlessly at the wall across from me.   The picture below is a gorgeous mural of a bull fighter and bull. The wall it is on is about 12 feet tall by 16 feet (approximately) wide along the seating area next to the bar just as you walk in.  Love it! There are big windows along the main wall along the street, that can slide open to enjoy a warm summer day or night.  My guess is that the space probably seats about 50-60 people.  I do know that they can accommodate large groups of 5 or more with a reservation, please call 360 930 8446.  I am thinking party here for any occasion!

As soon as we sat down the waiter/bartender came over to greet us.  His name was Ryan and he began to tell us that they make all of their mixes for their drinks fresh daily, including Sangria – White Pear Sangria is a signature drink.  They also have Potato Vodka, and it is Gluten Free! So he began to pour us our filtered water and  I asked Ryan,  Do you have a Gluten Free menu?
His reply … YES we do! and with a smile!
I was beside myself … I love it when you get that kind of reaction when asking a restaurant about Gluten Free … love it!
So he brought me the Gluten Free Menu and there are about 20 tapas and Paella with all Seafood or Seafood and Chicken. Actually as you look at the menu most of the items on a Tapas menu are Gluten Free without making changes or effort.  I suggest that you look for a Tapas Bar in your neighborhood or while you are traveling because they will most likely be a great way to enjoy a Gluten Free meal safely in its own cazuela or authtentic clay dish. Prices range from $3.50 – $10 and the Paella is $16.

Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates, Bacon Wrapped with Balsamic Reduction
Perfection … I make these at home and love them!
This was a special for the day
Sauteed Artichokes with Manchego Cheese
Garlic Prawns …
need I say more?
Seabass Skewers with Salsa Verde and Roasted Pepper Coulis
Signature top … Tapas
Sauteed Spinach with Golden Raisins and Pinenuts
Potato Tortilla with Chorizo and Spinach

Seafood Paella
(made in 16 minutes that works for me!)
Chocolate Truffle Torte with Caramel Sauce and Grey Salt
Yes, it was big, divine and I actually shared it but I really wanted all of it!

Ok, so I know what you are thinking … did she really eat all of that? Well yes and no … you see when I started writing this posting, I was looking at the menu and started to get so hungry that I called my friend Ana, to meet me there.  I just had to go back to make sure that the food and service were as awesome as I remembered and I am so happy to report …. Excelente!

Believe it or not there are so many Tapas and the Flan that I still want to try so I will have to go back … and will do this happily because they are open 7 days a week! 11:30 AM – 11 PM.
I highly recommend that you go to the Paella Bar in Poulsbo for Tapas, Paella and Drinks! It is worth a ferry ride from Seattle and you will be so happy you experienced it!
Saludos,
Lisa
